Who can benefit from a professionalization period?

The period of professionalization is aimed to private and public employees who need to acquire new knowledge in terms of technological evolution and work organization.

The period of professionalization concerns in particular:

* Employees over 45 years of age, with 20 years of professional experience, including one year of seniority in the same administration or company;

* Employees returning to work after parental or maternity leave;

* Workers with disabilities;

* Employees considering the creation or takeover of a business.

Good to know: certain training solutions for workers are better financed than for advertised amounts or rates for other employees.

The principle of the professionalization period

The period of professionalization is set up within the framework of a training plan and meets the same obligations of duration and remuneration.

For civil servants, the period of professionalization is limited to 6 months.

Employees who undertake a period of professionalization retain their salary. If the training takes place outside working time, the employee receives an allowance equal to 50% of his salary.

Good to know: periods of professionalization can be taken into account for the personal training account.

The advantages of the professionalization period

The period of professionalization allows the employee:

* to complement his knowledge, particularly with regard to new technologies;

* to adapt to changes in his position;

* to convert to another service;

* to combine training activity and period.

Advice: when presenting your training project to your employer, highlight the advantages it will have to let you go in training.
