Why an MBA ranking?

Future students enrolled in the various MBAs consider the rankings to be preponderant to their choice.

Similarly, these rankings allow each institution to take advantage of its positioning to attract as many students as possible.

Finally, multinational recruiters also look at rankings to guide their choices.

Utility of MBA rankings

Provided that classification is not the only criterion for choosing an institution, it is useful to know the reputation of an institution, especially if the institution is private.

But the most important thing for a candidate is to find the institution that will meet his or her own goals. Some rankings highlight the salary and its evolution after obtaining the diploma but do not mention the quality of the schools.

The following ranking, given as an indication, shows the schools most recognized for the quality of their MBA.

Limitations of MBA rankings

The subjectivity of the data used in the various MBA rankings shows that any ranking has its limits. The same MBA may not be in a ranking publication when it appears in another.

Before applying, it is preferable to consult the rankings over several years and if possible the results published by the same source. The choice will naturally be towards schools that remain in good position for several years.

Good to know: Not all programs are included in the rankings; are simply the most requested.

Organization of MBA rankings

The choice of an MBA is difficult for future candidates because the criteria for ranking differ in programs, geographical locations, diplomas or salaries, and also from a country to another.

The candidates to the MBA are therefore confronted with a major difficulty: the sorting of the selections.

There are very serious sources, some of which explain their methodology, and on which candidates generally base themselves, namely:

* Business Week

* The Economist

* Financial Times

* The Wall Street Journal

* The Forbes Magazine
