By acquiring zData, a US consulting firm specializing in Pivotal consulting and analytics solutions, Atos' IT services group intends to accelerate the development of its big data solutions in North America.
AtoS has just announced the acquisition by a repurchase agreement of shares of zData, an American group specializing in big data consulting and solutions. Based in Newark, Delaware, zData is one of the largest providers of Pivotal services and analytical solutions in the US, including SaaS and on-site Greenplum, Hadoop and Pivotal HDB. By combining the expertise of the firm in datascience with its cognitive solutions, Atos intends to accelerate the deployment of its big data offerings, including Codex, its range of analytical solutions, in North America, to accompany the transformation of its customers. SSII intends to build on the experience of zData on Pivotal's Cloud Foundry platform to provide a solution that meets the needs of its customers' cloud applications.
In a press release, Atos said that zData was in line with the growth strategy of its offerings and its big data solutions, including its Codex range, especially in the United States. Codex allows the value of existing company data to be exploited in a cost-effective and timely manner and cross-referenced with external data.
