What is a good presentation?

The presentation should facilitate the understanding of the audience. To do this, it must be linear, simple and structured.

So it is a must to prepare it well by choosing the right materials to make the presentation interesting and attractive to the public.

The meeting preparation

As with public speaking, there will be many parameters to take into account, namely:

* where will take place the intervention as well as the approximate number of people having their importance;

* obtaining a thread that will be the key message of the presentation, it will be retained throughout the presentation of document;

* choose which media to get the message: board, transparent, slide on film, video projection (PowerPoint)?

The choice of media

According to the presentation to make, you can choose between different media:

* the video projection (PowerPoint) which has several advantages: quality, no time to predict, they are easily modifiable and are very dynamic for the audience;

* the board is unattractive and not very dynamic. It limits the quality and quantity. It should not be indigestible to the audience;

* the transparency is rarely used these days, it is often of poor quality, not modifiable and not very dynamic;

* the slides on film: allow time for development. They are often of good quality and capture the attention of the public, the slides can not be modified.

The presentation of document

For a clear, pleasant, airy and understood presentation by all, it is essential:

* to choose the right background color and graphics;

* not to hesitate to write big for everyone to read so good the presentation, even those seated in back of the room:

- the title size by 36 points at least,
- the text of 24 points
- the minimum to use is of 18 points;

* to use colors to make your text alive (up to 3 colors);

* to prefer fonts like Arial, Univers, the bold and underline to emphasize the important points;

* to apply the same style to be homogeneous;

* pages in landscape format are more readable than pages in portrait format;

* too many animations are adverse, since the attention of your audience is greatly diminished.

How to make a structured presentation?

For a successful presentation, it must be structured, your main objectives will be:

* Identify targets by placing the study in context.

* Be concise, each page and/or each slide has a unique message to transmit:

- it will be clearly identified,
- all data of these slides will be centered around the same theme.

* The conclusion must be clearly identified, you can approach prospects and applications.

* Do not forget to thank the people who actively participated in the presentation.

* Too much information kills the speech: your audience will read the text and does not listen to the speech of the speaker.

The audience is aware that you have worked hard to make this presentation, the quantity will not impress your audience, the goal is that the latter listens to you and understands you.
