Good to know: it is advisable to anticipate and go ahead to prospect, for example in January for a summer job.

Use your personal network

There are many opportunities around you that you do not always suspect.

* List all the people you meet or have encountered in different fields: studies, sports activities, hobbies...

* Ask yourself how this person can help you in your research:

- He/she may need others;
- He/she can open your network to you;
- He/she can put in touch with someone.

* Contact as many people as possible and meet them:

- give them your CV;
- allow them to distribute your professional cards.

Search directly

Spontaneous applications are also a good way to get a job.

* Register with the town hall of your home or the city where you want to work, or even with several.

Good to know: the services of the town halls recruit students for the holidays, for specific missions relating to certain events, or internally throughout the year.

* Apply directly

- list the domains that recruit students and interest you (merchants, distribution mass, agriculture, catering, tourism, camping, animation, childcare, cleaning, factory...) and make lists of contacts.
- send e-mails, door-to-door or make an appointment to apply: a young person who takes the time to introduce himself/herself is always well received.

Tip: look after your presentation when you go to a potential employer.

Make a follow-up chart: make a note of the places where you have applied, restart some time later or on the date that the employer has advised you.

Browse classified ads

Consult specialized websites, reply to ads or submit your CV. Here are some sites that offer jobs:

Get closer to professional agencies

Employment counselors can guide you, give you leads, and direct you to job ads. Do not hesitate to meet them!

Place your ad on their billboards. See also:

* interim boxes;

* emploi agency;

* youth information and documentation center;

* local mission of your commune;

* chambers of commerce and industry.

Go to job forums

In the spring, many cities organize summer job forums. The employers are there.

* Get your resume and professional cards and go to these forums.

* Arrive as soon as possible, at the opening, because the present employers are taken by assault. You will certainly find people you have contacted spontaneously: they will appreciate your pugnacity to look for work.
