Where do you stand now?

To achieve your career goal, first take time to analyze your current situation. Do a self-assessment of your work situation, your personality, your preferences, your skills and values.

Here are some questions to help you carry out your self-assessment:

* What are the elements that motivate you/what do you like to do?

* What are your qualities?

* What are your behavioral skills?

* What level of professional constraints are you ready to accept?

* What are your strengths and weaknesses?

* What do you look for in a job?

Where would you go?

From this self-assessment and your interests, qualities, skills and experience, formulate ideas on the type of position and area of interest, as a brainstorming: note all the ideas that goes through your head! Then proceed by elimination by stepping back, to refine your list. Finally, identify the skills that correspond to these ideas to determine your career orientation.

How to get there?

You have set your career orientation. You must now determine how to get there. To refine your goals and thus identify the stages of your career plan, try to answer the following questions:

* What are your plans for the next 6 months? Coming years?

* How and when will you achieve your goals in terms of training?

* How and when will you get the required skills and experience?

* How can you expand your network and how long it takes?

Once you have determined your goals and the way to achieve them, you will know which way to go. It is important that you follow the evolution of your career plan and that you maintain the set course. However, do not hesitate to detach when an opportunity arises. In fact, your career plan should be adapted to the economic change and personal circumstances.
