Delegate requires experience. Becoming a manager is to know to lead a team, delegate and also crop a collaborator.

What is delegate?


To delegate, one must,

* have experience in his field,

* Learn to lead a team.

The manager time, entrenched in its ivory tower, is over.

It will therefore be:

* listening to his employees,

* interacting and exchanging views with them,

* communicating with his company, his industry and also with the outside world.

To delegate, it is essential to have the right tools of work (laptop, computer, Internet...) Otherwise, the mission is very dangerous.

How to delegate?


To know how to delegate successfully, you must choose what is delegated before unloading on his subordinates and be especially convinced of his interest.

The manager will choose the nearest person of delegated folder (customers/field).

Employees will therefore be empowered, the manager will refocus on his core tasks, such as defining the medium or long term strategies.

There will be a gain of performance, time and efficiency.

To do this, the manager determines several points:

* What he delegates: tasks that can be delegated.

* To whom he delegates:

- a close collaborator of the file, motivated and competent in his field;
- know his working methods, his aspirations and his potential will be a plus.

* Setting the rules of the game:

- The manager agreed with the subject of the tasks to achieve and the expected result, there will be a sort of delegation contract engaging the manager and the employee on the terms of decision making.

- A point will be regularly made between the manager and the employee to know the status of the file advancement.

* Make a balance sheet:

- At the moment of the employee assessment interview, it would be appropriate to make a point on delegated folders that have been entrusted.
- If the results are satisfactory, it could lead to an increase or a promotion.

Conclusion

To delegate, the manager must know the motivation of the concerned employee, is it:

* his career development,

* safety at work,

* convivial working relationship with the team.

Take into account that the motivations are different from one individual to another.

Delegating provides the advantage to advance and grow his employees in their involvement.
